The Joseph Bucklin Society (JBS) is developing several bibliographies, lists of citations to books, scholarly articles, and other written materials focusing on the Society's subjects of English and American history study. We call these reference resources the Gaspee Library. Those resources include much history other than direct history of the events of the June, 1772, attack on the Gaspee. One of those JBS bibliographies is on the subject of the Gaspee attack of 1772, its causes and its aftermath. The bibliography project is called the "Gaspee Shelf" of the JBS Library. In short, the JBS "Gaspee Shelf" will develop into a full bibliography intended for persons who want to learn more about not only the first shot of the American Revolution --- the attack on the Gaspee --- but also the events that formed the background of the attack. The Gaspee Shelf is still in the process of being formed. But inquiries can be made to the Society by accredited scholars.
